Footprints In My Heart – Capturing A Moment In

I always think men have it quite easy when it comes to buying gifts for women. Most women, mums and grandmothers especially are sentimental when it comes to their children or grandchildren. We’re not that complicated are we? So why do men seem to find it difficult choosing us gifts?

When it comes to birthdays and christmas I always like to put some thought into presents, I love personalised gifts and gifts that have meaning. Call me fussy but if it doesn’t have meaning or purpose then don’t bother. For Father’s Day I have twice bought my OH a wooden keyring, on them are the dates of birth of our children and a short statement saying ‘The day you became my daddy’. I think they’re really sweet and well, I’m still waiting for mine…! I think it has been said before that people often give the type gifts they also like to receive. It’s a matter of taste I guess.

Don’t get me wrong I have received some gorgeous gifts from my significant other including some beautiful earrings and dazzling Pandora charms. He has treated me to lovely spa days and one gift was a bird of prey experience which was fabulous. But one thing still missing is a little something with our children’s presence of some sort on it. You know, a fingerprint, a footprint or there name. There is something really special about capturing a moment in time. Time as we know it passes extremely quickly and our children are grown up in the flicker of a flame.

I don’t know about you but there is something that can’t be put into words about those moments you caress their little feet, sing this little piggy and tickle the sole of their feet waiting for them to inevitably curl their tiny toes up. Those moments you hold their hand and they take yours, their skin so soft and not wanting to let go. Those tiny hands so pure, so innocent and full of future stories to write. Those tiny feet with so many steps yet to take.

ESP Keepsakes

I was so happy to come across ESP Keepsakes. ESP Keepsakes are a new business based in the UK. The founder Lizzie understands these treasured moments and loves making these pieces.

The process was so simple. Lizzie sent me a kit, with which we made footprint prints, one from Pops and one from Pud. We posted them on and what came back was simply beautiful. As you can see from the pictures, Pud’s print is obvious as it looks quite flat footed and Pops being older has the arch developed. I wear it with pride and with love. My children, their footprints forever in my heart.

Love anything with tiny handprints and footprints on though, as they don’t stay tiny for long! Thank you for linking this to #DreamTeam!
